MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 8, 2002 Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The minutes of the Council meeting of April 16, 2002 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of Apri123, 2002 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of Apri130, 2002 were approved as written. President O'Grady announced that the following legislation would be passed under suspension of the rules: Ordinances 2002-61, 2002-62, 2002-63, 2002-64, 2002-68, 2002-70 and Resolution 2002-66. REPORTS: Mayor Musial: 1) His office, primarily through the efforts of Mary Creadon, is working with the Law Director to standardize city contracts and RFP's including separate ones for personal services contracts and construction contracts. 2) On April 18, the administration arranged for a seminar concerning sexual harassment and discrimination for all employees in a supervisory position. T'he seminar was held in the Heritage Room of Springvale. It was presented by Mel Brown from Municipal Insurance Alliance and attorney John Latchney. 3) On Apri125, he presented a plaque and keys to the City of North Olmsted to the 2002 Citizen of the Year, Beryl Peck. 4) On Sunday, May 5, he presented a proclamation to Nathan Bates at his Eagle Court of Honor. Nathan achieved his Eagle Scout award through his Scout involvement with Troop 53 which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of North Olmsted. 5) On May 6, the administration held an open session on the status and design of the new North Olmsted Public Library. Excellent presentations were made by Marc Bittinger of Spice, Constantino Architects and Donna Meyers of the North Olmsted Library as to the elevation aspects and interior design features. 6) On May 8, the administration met with representatives of the library, architects, construction manager, legal counsel for the library and legal counsel for North Olmsted ~._ ...... scr. -_. ~., _. .. - .. _.
