Council Minutes of 5/8/2002 ,, Ordinance No. 2002-70 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An Ate;. ordinance authorizing the Mayor to contract for the immediate replacement of the thickened primary sludge line at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Limpert moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review and noted that this was discussed briefly during caucus and this is an emergency situation with a temporary overground line being used at this time. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar. Roll call: Limpert, yes, with comment that he went to the plant to review this situation and it is necessary. Roll call continued: Nashar, yes; McKay, yes; Kasler, yes; Dailey, yes; Gareau, yes; Miller, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2002-70 adopted. MISCELLANEOUS B~J~IYESS Councilman Nashar scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, at 6 p.m. to discuss three Planning Commission items. The City Engineer, a representative from the Fire Department and a representative from the Building Department are asked to attend. Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting immediately following the BZD Committee on Tuesday, May 14, to discuss Ordinance 2002-60. The Finance Director is asked to attend. Councilwoman Kasler scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting immediately following the Finance Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance 2002-67. The Safety Director and/or a representative from the Police Department are asked to attend. Councilman Limpert scheduled an Environmental Control Committee meeting immediately following the Public Safety Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance 2002-69. The Service Director of a representative from the Wastewater Treatment Plant are asked to attend. Councilman Miller scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- Range Planning Committee immediately following the Environmental Control Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance 2002-b5. A member of the Landmarks Commission is asked to attend to discuss the library issue. The Law Director is asked to attend for a discussion of the new process for contract legislation. Councilman Gareau moved to adjourn into executive session to discuss litigation regarding Parcel E and asked that Mr. Smerigan be present. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Council adjourned imo executive session at 9:50 p.m. 15
