Council Minutes of 5/8/2002 <br />,, Ordinance No. 2002-70 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />Ate;. ordinance authorizing the Mayor to contract for the immediate replacement of the <br />thickened primary sludge line at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Limpert moved for suspension of the rules requiring three <br />readings and committee review and noted that this was discussed briefly during caucus <br />and this is an emergency situation with a temporary overground line being used at this <br />time. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Nashar. Roll call: Limpert, yes, with comment that he went to the plant to review this <br />situation and it is necessary. Roll call continued: Nashar, yes; McKay, yes; Kasler, yes; <br />Dailey, yes; Gareau, yes; Miller, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />2002-70 adopted. <br />MISCELLANEOUS B~J~IYESS <br />Councilman Nashar scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 14, at 6 p.m. <br />to discuss three Planning Commission items. The City Engineer, a representative from <br />the Fire Department and a representative from the Building Department are asked to <br />attend. <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting immediately following the <br />BZD Committee on Tuesday, May 14, to discuss Ordinance 2002-60. The Finance <br />Director is asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Kasler scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting <br />immediately following the Finance Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance 2002-67. <br />The Safety Director and/or a representative from the Police Department are asked to <br />attend. <br />Councilman Limpert scheduled an Environmental Control Committee meeting <br />immediately following the Public Safety Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance <br />2002-69. The Service Director of a representative from the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Miller scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee immediately following the Environmental Control <br />Committee on May 14 to discuss Ordinance 2002-b5. A member of the Landmarks <br />Commission is asked to attend to discuss the library issue. The Law Director is asked to <br />attend for a discussion of the new process for contract legislation. <br />Councilman Gareau moved to adjourn into executive session to discuss litigation <br />regarding Parcel E and asked that Mr. Smerigan be present. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Council adjourned imo executive session <br />at 9:50 p.m. <br />15 <br />
