The awnings will be placed
on every window on the west elevation, but not across the front. Sconce lighting was
discussed and the use of lighting similar to the CVS store across the street. Halleen
indicated that it was a favorable proposal, and they incorporated it into their plan. They
will use a 75 watt metal halide lighting system. There will be a total of 7-2 across the
from, 2 on west elevation, 1 on the back and 1 flanking each side of the door. The brick
to be used is vermilion, Global Clay, Mercai, 1081725. There will no longer be an emry-
way from Lorain Road. The concxete will be taken out and grass planted. One member
of Council requested that landscaping be incorporated into that grasses area, and Halleen
has landscaped the entire from between the sidewalk and where they will display their
cars. Lastly, there was some question about the fence that will be ruining along Dewey
Road. The fence is a vinyl, dog-oared shadow box style to be either' beige or white in
color. Councilman Gareau moved that Council approve the Halleen Kia proposal subject
to the recommendations of the various boards and commissions and the two BZD
Committee meetings. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and passed
unanimously:
3) With regard to Ruby Tuesday's, a communication has been received regarding a
concern as to the nature of the drainage on the site as it borders on the west with the
House of Lamps. The question is whether or not this construction will impede a pre-
existing drainage outlet which may actually run across the Elias Brothers restaurant
property. Based upon the communication, the committee has asked the Fa~ineering
Department to investigate and report back to the committee. Until that time, this project
will be held in committee.
Councilman Limpert, chairperson of the Streets ~ Drainage Committee: 1) As chair of
Struts 8c Drainage, he has asked that members of Council list areas of concen- that they
have in the city.
