In that case, <br />he believes that Council should step forward and speak on behalf of the levy that will <br />benefit our community. <br />Don Pangrac, 23470 Sharon Drive, again noted that North Olmsted is spending $7 <br />million more ihan North Royahon to educate their children while North Royalton scores <br />27 out of 27 poims and North Olmsted scores 21 out of 27 points on their "report cards." <br />Mr. Pangrac suggested that before endorsing the school levy that people should do some <br />research--the State of Ohio's website does provide useful information. Mr. A+filler said <br />there are many issues to be reviewed when comparing one city to another. We do not <br />know the financial structure of North Royalton, nor do we know about their buildings, <br />equipment, buses, etc. There may be other cities that even do better than North Royahon. <br />Mr. McKay noted that berth sides of the issue have to be examined. As Mr. Miller noted, <br />people will leave the city because they fear their children will not get a quality education. <br />However, other people may have to leave because they cannot pay the tax increase. <br />L,_,EG~~1TUN <br />Ordinance No. 2001-158 irnroduced by Councilmen Miller and Limpert was given its <br />third reading. An ordinance creating new Section 739.05 of the Business Regulation <br />Code, entitled "Retail Gas Price Regulations," for the purpose of prohibiting suppliers of <br />gasoline to the public from charging a retail price which is more than fifty percent {50%) <br />higher than the average retail price per gallon in Cuyahoga Coumy, as determined by the <br />County Auditor, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Councilman Miller moved <br />for adoption The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert. Roll call: Miller, yes; <br />Limpert, Yes; Bailey, Yes, with the commern that the city has functional for years without <br />this type of ordinance. We had one alleged incident take place on the date of September <br />11, 2001. While he is personally not in favor of this ordinance on a long teem basis, the <br />fact that it has a sunset provision on it leads him to vote yes. Roll call cominued: Gareau, <br />yes; Kesler, yes; McKay, yes; Nashar, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />No. 2001-158 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-12 introduced by Councilman Gareau on behalf of Councilman <br />Miller, Councilwoman Kesler, Councilman Nashar and himself was given its second <br />reading as amended. An ordinance repealing Ordinance 97-122 entitled, "An ordinance <br />creating a new Chapter 133 of the Administrative Code of the City of North Olmsted, <br />entitled `Irrterim Dira~or Appointments,' and declaring an emergency," and declaring an <br />emergency as twice amended. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-15 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading as <br />amended. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to ear irrto a contract far the purchase of <br />a portion of the Sunoco, Inc., property located at 23370 Lorain Read, North Olmsted, <br />Ohio, (Permanent Parcel No. 231.12-35) for the purpose of widening Claque Road, as <br />amended. Councilman Limpert moved to susper-d the rule requiring three readings. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. 3anet Beringer, <br />23336 Stoneybrook Drive, asked haw the legislation had been amended.
