Council Minutes of 1/15/2002 <br />,~„ plant went from worst to first. Mr. Bohlmann oversaw the building of the new Fire <br />Station, and he took over the maintenance of the parks. Ralph Bohlmann only asked his <br />employees for a day's work for a day's pay. He himself never took time off. He did all <br />this and more while he acted as chief negotiator with the unions. He was very familiar <br />with construction, and he knew exactly how to handle the contractors. He had a job to <br />do-he did it extremely well. She admired and respected Ralph for his dedication. The <br />city is in the best shape it's been in since she moved into North Olmsted. She doesn't <br />know who Mr. Bohlmann's replacement is going to be, but that person is going to have a <br />hard time filling his shoes. <br />Ed Colwell, 3333 W. 231 Street, welcomed Mr. Gareau back to Council and noted that <br />the Manor Care issues, including the lighting issue, had not changes. Councilman <br />Gareau thanked Mr. Colwell and noted that the Council has passed legislation regarding <br />prohibiting deviations from plans. As to the lighting problem, he plans to re-visit the <br />ordinances that are on hold which will establish lighting standards. <br />Councilman Limpert moved that Council retire into executive session to discuss <br />preparations for a collective bargaining negotiation. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Council adjourned irrto executive session <br />at 9:12 p.m. <br />President O'Grady reconvened the Council meeting at 9:59 p.m. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2001-157 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to directly purchase a second rotating assembly from <br />the original equipment manufacturer of the equipmen incorporated into the 2000 <br />dewatering centrifuge project, and declaring an emergency as amended. Councilman <br />Limpert moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved <br />for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 2001-157 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-1 introduced by Councilman McKay was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance authorizing and directing the crediting of certain itrterest and other <br />investment earnings to the General Obligation Bond Retirement Fund. <br />Resolution No. 2002-3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for storm sewer improvements on <br />Columbia Road as detailed in the plans and specifications on file and authorizing the <br />Mayor to contract for the same, and declaring an emergency. <br />8 <br />,.. <br />
