MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 2, 2003 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 5, 2003 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced that Ordinance No. 2003-158 would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />President O'Grady expressed condolences to Safety Director Richard Jesse on the sudden <br />passing of his brother. <br />REPORTS <br />1) The warm days in November were a bonus for course play at Springvale. The course <br />revenue figured to be about $28,000 and so far the ballroom revenue is on target. <br />2) The bid openings for the vending and video games at the Recreation complex took <br />place on November 12. Although three bids were received, one was thrown out because <br />of an incomplete bid and the Recreation Center Manager requested a re-bid since the <br />remaining two bids did not provide enough information to make a positive decision. The <br />Board of Control agreed, and the bid opening for the re-bid is scheduled for next <br />Monday, December 8. <br />3) Fifteen firefighters took part in the Lieutenant's test. Of those fifteen, ten passed both <br />the written and the oral assessment. Ken Hehnen ranked number one and was sworn in <br />on Monday, November 24. <br />4) The Lorain Road project is substantially complete. There are some additional <br />pavement markings to be completed and some tree lawn restoration and seeding to be <br />done in early spring. Traffic signal systems are now being checked to make sure all <br />newly installed loops are operating properly and back to normal operation. <br />5) The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 8.
