MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII, <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER S, 2003 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copier, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance as led by Eagle Scout Daniel Grayshaw. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance 2003-157 on <br />first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Dailey. Roll call: Gareau, yes; <br />Dailey, yes; Kasler, yes; Limpert, yes; McKay, no; Miller, yes; Nashar, yes. The motion <br />passed with six yeas and one nay. <br />President O'Grady announced that the following pieces of legislation would be passed <br />under suspension of the rules: Resolutions 2003-149, 2003-152, 2003-153. <br />President O'Grady introduced guest Mrs. Zulli Serafini, a high school principal from <br />Argentina. North Olmsted is participating in the administrator exchange program which <br />is sponsored by the Fulbright Foundation and the U. S. Department of State. This <br />program allows school leaders of each country to observe how education functions <br />locally in a different country. Mrs. Zulli is visiting the North Olmsted City School <br />District for three weeks and is staying with Dr. and Mrs. Sebring. She will visit the <br />district's Spanish classes and will provide language and cultural experience for our <br />students and teachers. Also, she will be spending time with administrators to see how <br />administrators in the United States conduct operations. <br />SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2003-152 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Limpert on behalf of the Mayor and entire City Council. A resolution commending the <br />achievement by Aaron David Machala of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. <br />Councilman Limpert moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed <br />unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously.
