MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 19, 2003 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 5, 2003 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced the following pieces of legislation would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules: Second reading, Ordinance 2003-101, Resolution 2003-116; <br />First reading, Resolution 2003-118, 2003-119. <br />Mayor Musial commented on the recent electrical power blackout experienced through a <br />large part of the eastern part of the nation. He is very proud of the way the Police <br />Department, Fire Department, EMS, Dispatchers, Auxiliary Police Officers, NOMBL and <br />the Service Department responded to guarantee the health, safety and welfare of our <br />citizens. Represernatives of the employee groups were asked to come forward. Mayor <br />Musial presented them with proclamations recognizing and applauding their outstanding <br />efforts and service during the electrical power blackout of August 14, 15 and 16. These <br />employees and their leadership responded to the myriad of concerns, worries and <br />incidents reported by many residents in a dutiful and professional manner with effort that <br />was selfless. On behalf of the entire community, he commended and applauded all the <br />members of the North Olmsted Safety and Service Departments. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) A reply has been received from the Cleveland Metroparks <br />acknowledging his correspondence to them regarding the installation of an all-purpose <br />trail along Bradley Road and Bradley Woods Reservation. They had previously <br />indicated, on June 26, 2002, that they would provide for an all-purpose trail once the city <br />has commenced construction of adjoining sidewalks along Bradley Road. They indicated <br />and agreed that the addition of sidewalks and an all-purpose trail along Bradley Road will <br />be a definite positive improvement for the area residents. The Service Director has stated <br />that trees will be removed in the appropriate spots in the very near future. Hopefully, <br />
