OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 30, 2003 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gazeau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashaz <br />Also Present: Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the special meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Councilman McKay, chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The Finance Committee <br />met on Tuesday, June 24. In attendance were committee members Kasler, Limpert and <br />McKay; Councilpersons Gareau and Nashaz; Mayor Musial, Finance Director Copfer, <br />Law Director Dubelko, Engineer Durbin, Tim Hunsicker of Spice Costantino and Donna <br />Myers of the library. The following items were discussed: <br />^ Library furnishings. A copy of the items to be purchased as well as the cost was <br />presented. All furnishings were listed by item number and items 1 through 78 will <br />be purchased through the state purchasing arrangement. This saves the city some <br />money. The estimated cost for those items, $176,447.84. Miscellaneous items such <br />as hose reel, water hose, coffee makers, dinnerware, refrigerators, dishwashers, <br />microwaves, toaster oven will probably be purchased through the city by direct <br />purchase order by one of the contractors. The committee discussed Resolution No. <br />2002-149, a resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the North <br />Olmsted branch library furniture and furnishings as detailed in the specifications on <br />file in the office of the Mayor and further authorizing the Mayor to contract for the <br />same. The committee recommended passage of the legislation on June 30. The other <br />necessary legislation will be prepared by the Law Department and acted on at a <br />special Council meeting proposed on July 17. <br />• Ordinance 2003-100, an ordinance to create a new Section 179.03 of Chapter 179 of <br />the city administrative code entitled "Department of Planning" in order to establish <br />the position of economic development manager and declaring an emergency. The <br />general feeling of Council was that the Department of Planning should be established <br />first, and following that the position of the economic development manager will again <br />be reviewed by Council. This was held in committee. <br />^ The Bradley Road sidewalk project. The length of the sidewalk is 1,379 1/10 feet and <br />is 5 feet wide. The cost estimates aze the clearing of existing trees and shrubs by the <br />city, $2,400. Installing new ditch and driveway pipes is 280 feet at a cost of $22 a <br />foot, $6,160. That work would also be done by the city. Four foot sidewalk complete <br />in place, 6,895 1/2 square feet at $3.25 a square foot, $22,410.38. Restoration of the <br />
