Members of Council
and specifically members of the Legislative Committee will be invited to attend.
3) Slab repairs should start in North Park Estates next week and in Sandy Ridge shortly
thereafter.
4) Lear Nagle Road was reopened at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 13.
5) The South Canterbury Road contract should be signed this week, so that will be started
soon.
6) Safety Town is currently underway with two graduations on June 20 and another group
graduating on June 27. About 150 children are expected to participate in this program
which emphasizes traveling safety for small children.
7) The DARE golf outing will be held on June 27 at Springvale Golf Course.
8) The Assistant Fire Chief job posting has occurred, and testing procedures are
commencing through the Civil Service Commission.
9) The roof repair contract for Fire Station No. 2 roof has been executed with work
commencing within the next three weeks.
10) All Scouts Weekend was conducted this past weekend. It was a Beat success
primarily because the weather was terrific.
11) He wished to reply to statements made by Ms. Amy Cornish, a former city employee,
at the Council meeting of June 3. Ms. Cornish made statements regarding computer files,
city services and alleging possible safety risks to residents. These kinds of allegations
can sometimes take on the appearance of fact when viewed in the form of the written
word. He must respond to the allegations and ask for definite proof and details to
substantiate them. Without such proof, he believes an apology and statement of
misrepresentation submitted by Ms. Cornish to the residents and City Council would be
in order to set the record straight. Ms. Cornish alleges electronic files in city computers
were deleted. He asks that the files be identified as well as the dates and location of the
files and whether there were copies of the files. An investigation conducted by the North
Olmsted Police Dept. into this matter concluded the case unfounded. Given Ms.
Cornish's level in the city organization structure while she was a city employee, she may
not have known the complete picture regarding City Hall computer tampering that was
going on. Ms. Creadon's files were being moved around, and her computer was accessed
by someone continually during roughly the September/December 2001 time period. How
could this be, they did not know. Thus, he retained an outside computer specialist to
investigate. He informed the Mayor that someone installed PC Anywhere on Ms.
Creadon's computer, which enabled that someone, or anyone else with the password, to
enter into her computer and do whatever they wanted with the files. Once PC Anywhere
was deleted, her computers were no longer tampered with. Ms. Cornish stated that what
she had witnessed was enough for her to cast her vote for Mrs. Kasler at the mayoral
election. He asks what she witnessed and where are the facts and evidence? Ms. Cornish
also stated that, when reviewing the Council minutes for the past several months, she
noticed an abundance of employees attending the Council meetings to express their
concerns about the Mayor's cutback on staffing. He asks what is an abundance? Is less
2
o _ - ,~. .. _ .,~ ... .
