Council Minutes of 6/3/2003
Pam Chesaz, 28649 Holly Drive, uses the bike path almost every night during the summer. It
is well used by bikers, walkers and rollerbladers. One problem is people who walk dogs and
don't clean up. If we had more bike paths in the city, they would be used.
Pat Deis, 26893 Sweetbriaz, has heard several references to signs. We have no sign person.
Signs are in limbo. The city employee who took caze of signs retired and has not been
replaced. She noted that the Canterbury Road sign was down and propped up against a pole
for a while, but somebody has now taken it.
Charles Dial, 27959 Gardenia Drive.
^ He is happy to see that the Rec Center is getting the outdoor pool together. He knows
they are doing this with a limited budget---they deserve some accolades for doing the best
they can with limited resources. He is not endorsing the general condition of the center,
but he recognizes efforts aze being made.
^ The city website is being revised in some foolish ways as far he is concerned. Why is it
that the person who worked on it in the past or now isn't getting credit anywhere on the
website? Who is the webmaster? Is it being contracted out? Mayor Musial answered
that it is being done in-house by the Data Processing staff. They will be recognized when
the job is completed. Mr. Dial does not like some of the design ideas, but said it is
obvious they are trying to build a new, better, different site. He thinks the most important
aspect of a city website is to have basic content that is current and accurate--Council
minutes, copies of statutes, copy of the city charter. It should be user-friendly.
LEGISLATION
Resolution No. 2002-29 introduced by Councilman McKay was given its third reading.
