tn• MINUTES OF TAE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED APRIL 15, 2003 Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, Gareau (arrived at 8:35 p.m.) Also Present: Mayor Musial (present unti18:37 p.m.), Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of April 1, 2003 were approved as written. President O'Grady made the following announcements: • Legislation to be passed under suspension of the rules include Resolutions 2003-60, 2003-61, 2003-68; Ordinances 2003-64, 2003-65. • The next Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 7 due to election day on Tuesday, May 6. • A public hearing with regard to Ordinance 2003-36 will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. On behalf of members of Council, President O'Grady extended best wishes to the community for Passover and Easter. REPORTS Mayor: 1) He is pleased to announce the hiring of a new City Engineer, Gary Durbin. Mr. Durbin has a wealth of experience having served for a time as chief deputy under County Engineer Tom Neff, and as a Maintenance Engineer under County Engineer Bob Klaiber. Mr. Durbin was the former County Engineer in Knox County for 16 years. During that time, he served as president of the Courny Engineer's Association of Ohio and president of the Ohio Council of County Officials. He was also elected to a position of Regional Northeast Vice-President of the National Association of County Engineers. Upon the creation of the Ohio Public Works Program, Mr. Durbin was elected as the County Engineer's representative to the District Integrating Committee for the district serving Knox County. Just prior to joining the Cuyahoga County Engineer's office in 1998, Mr. Durbin was employed by W. D. Partners of Columbus as senior design engineer focusing on site plan design for various projects across the country.
