Public Hearing Minutes
Ordinance No. 2002-186
Page 2
Councilman McKay commented that the vacant property is presently coned residential.
Any rezoning of that property to multi-family residences would have to go to a vote of
the residents of the city since multi-family dwellings already total 20% of all dwelling
units in the city. This is stipulated in the City Charter.
Councilman Miller asked Mr. Corsi to explain the depth of the driveways, not including
the garage space, but from curb to gazage door. Mr. Corsi explained that, when coming
in the main road, the units off to the left (north) would have garage setbacks of 25 feet.
There are 12 of these units. The balance of the units are basically entered through an
alley which is really a lazge driveway. The aprons to those driveways to the actual
gazage itself aze 4 feet and the road (alley) is 25 feet, for a total of 29 feet. From the curb
to the gazage is 4 feet, but vehicles for those units will be required to be gazaged. There
will be guest pazking available.
Lee Chazboneau, 5021 Columbia Road. His property abuts this project. Mr. Corsi and
his azchitects have met with the residents on Columbia Road at least three times and
reviewed and revised this plan to the residents' satisfaction, with probably one exception.
The residents of Columbia Road understand that the land will not remain vacant and feel
that this will be the best use of the property. Even though the project does abut their
homes, they think that everything that Mr. Corsi has addressed has really been to their
satisfaction. They aze looking forward to having this development rather than something
that could be much worse, such as numerous apartments which would cause more traffic
problems.
As there were no further comments, President O'Grady adjourned the public hearing at
6:55 p.m.
_ ~ ~'
L.
