r MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 7, 2003 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler <br />(Mrs. Kasler arrived at 8:10 p.m.), Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Councilman Miller made a motion to remove Resolution 2002-188 and to hold the <br />legislation in committee until it can be amended. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Gareau moved to appoint Councilman John Dailey as the President Pro Tem <br />for 2003. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. <br />The Council meeting minutes of November 19, 2002 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced: Ordinance 2002-207 and Resolution 2002-209 will be <br />passed under suspension of the rules. A special meeting of Council will be held on <br />January 14 at 7 p.m. for the subject of engineering. Public hearings will be held on <br />February 18 at 6:45 p.m. for Ordinance 2002-186 (Rezoning for Rockwynd development) <br />and at 7:15 p.m. for Ordinance 99-77 (commercial lighting nuisance). <br />RE <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The Police Dept. has issued commendations to several officers for <br />their efforts in solving the murder case of a North Olmsted resident who was murdered <br />outside of his home. Commendations were awarded to Lt. Ron Cox, Patrolman Bill <br />Saringer, Patrolman Mikla, Patrolman Goodwin, Patrolman Morgan, Patrolman <br />Goodman and Patrolman Cook, Lt. Gallagher, Sgt. Bonnell, Det. Vagase, Det. Yost, Det. <br />Branscum, Det. McGrath. Capt. Wayne Wozniak has indicated that the successful <br />resolution to this difficult case can be directly attributed to the exceptional skills, <br />dedication and commitment displayed by these individuals. <br />2) Three-Z Inc., the company that picks up leaves, will make another pass through the <br />city as soon as the weather allows. This has been a difficult year because the leaves fell <br />late and the weather has not been good. It is difficult to pick up the leaves when they are <br />covered with snow. <br />3) He visited a home on Chapel Hill over the weekend where the rear basement wall blew <br />inward into the house causing some very extensive repair work.
