Council Minutes of 12-21-2004 proceed with negotiations with property owners of one or more sites that have been identified as acceptable by the Fire Department and by the recommendation of the Planning Commission for replacement Fire Station No. 2, and declaring an emergency. Resolution No. 2004-203 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to purchase three (3) new Crown Victoria Interceptor cruisers and one (1) Excursion, and related Police equipment, for the North Olmsted Police Department through the State Purchase Program; further authorizing the Mayor to execute all necessary contract documents; and declaring an emergency. Resolution No. 2004-204 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A resolution authorizing application for and acceptance of a direct grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security in an amount of up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) to be used for the purchase of equipment to improve the ability of the North Olmsted Police Department to respond to and deal with a terrorist attack or incident in the City of North Olmsted; and further authorizing the Mayor or Chief of Police, as applicable, to execute the necessary grant-related documents, and declaring an emergency. Resolution No. 2004-205 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A resolution granting to the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners a standard highway easement in conjunction with the Crocker-Stearns Road project. Councilman Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller. Roll call: Nashar, yes; Miller, yes; McKay, yes; Limpert, yes; Kasler, yes; Gareau, no; Dailey, yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2004-205 adopted. Resolution No. 2004-206 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A resolution granting to the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners a temporary right-of--way in conjunction with the Crocker-Stearns Road project. Councilman Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler Roll call: Nashar, yes; Kasler, yes; Limpert, yes; Dailey, yes; McKay, yes; Miller, yes; Gareau, no.
