~ ; MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 18, 2004 Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda by removing Ordinance No. 2004-39 (Ganley rezoning) from third reading. The motion was seconded Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. President O'Grady announced that a BZD Committee meeting would be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, to discuss the Ganley issue. A special Council meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 26. The minutes of the Council meeting of May 4, 2004 were approved as written. President O'Grady announced the following pieces of legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2004-86, 2004-87; first reading, Resolutions 2004-88, 2004-89, 2004-91, 2004-92. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) The public transportation five-year operating agreement between the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and the City of North Olmsted will expire on December 31, 2004. The primary issue will be the continuation of the agreement to include the construction of the $10 million bus garage which will be located in the industrial parkway at the western end of North Olmsted. He has appointed a North Olmsted negotiating team comprised of Law Director Jim Dubelko, Finance Director Carrie Copfer, Service Director Dan Driscoll and NOMBL Manager Tom Terbrack, with the idea that negotiations would commence roughly the middle of July. 2) North Olmsted received the Tree City of the Year award for 2003, our 19~' consecutive year. Forester Dave Wendell has done an excellent job each year of directing the tree planting event, and this year trees were planted at the site of the new library on Butternut Ridge Road.
