~ ; <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 18, 2004 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda by removing Ordinance No. <br />2004-39 (Ganley rezoning) from third reading. The motion was seconded Councilman <br />Nashar and passed unanimously. <br />President O'Grady announced that a BZD Committee meeting would be held at 7 p.m. on <br />Wednesday, May 26, to discuss the Ganley issue. A special Council meeting will follow <br />at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 26. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of May 4, 2004 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced the following pieces of legislation would be considered for <br />passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2004-86, 2004-87; <br />first reading, Resolutions 2004-88, 2004-89, 2004-91, 2004-92. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The public transportation five-year operating agreement between the <br />Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and the City of North Olmsted will expire <br />on December 31, 2004. The primary issue will be the continuation of the agreement to <br />include the construction of the $10 million bus garage which will be located in the <br />industrial parkway at the western end of North Olmsted. He has appointed a North <br />Olmsted negotiating team comprised of Law Director Jim Dubelko, Finance Director <br />Carrie Copfer, Service Director Dan Driscoll and NOMBL Manager Tom Terbrack, with <br />the idea that negotiations would commence roughly the middle of July. <br />2) North Olmsted received the Tree City of the Year award for 2003, our 19~' <br />consecutive year. Forester Dave Wendell has done an excellent job each year of <br />directing the tree planting event, and this year trees were planted at the site of the new <br />library on Butternut Ridge Road. <br />
