FINANCE MEETING
March ll;'2004
The following departments and issues were the highlighted discussion for this
meeting:
Bus Line
RTA has provided funding for a new manager for this year.
The Park n Ride has been successful and in fact, RTA is presently
negotiating with abutting landowners to obtain enough property to
increase the parking by 150 spots. This is the property to the north of
the present lot and Phase II of the project.
If Congress passes legislation regarding the Euclid Corridor,
construction on the NO Bus Garage will be scheduled for 2006 or 07.
This will probably be an 11 million dollar project with local
participation being 1 million.
Human Resources:
Grant money for a new vehicle was included in this budget
Mr Copeland reported on the Hot lunch program which also operates
under a grant. They are serving about 120-130 people every Tuesday
and Thursday.
By 20(15, the division will need additional clerical assistance and have
asked for an increase of hours for the present part time person.
The application for ADA entrance to the Community building was
denied. With the increased traffic into the senior center the entrance
is a difficult problem. Mr. Copeland proposed that he could provide
$1500 from a senior account and $3000 from the handicapped
parking ticket revenue designated for the senior center, and $5000
from Title III nutrition donations -totally $9500 of the $15000
necessary to repair this entrance. He has requested the remaining $
5500 be budgeted to this repair. That request was granted.
