• Council Minutes of 2/17/2004 <br />Councilman Dailey scheduled a Recreation Committee meeting to immediately follow <br />the Streets & Transportation Committee on February 24. The committee will discuss <br />Resolution 2004-26 and the proposed watering system at the BartonlBradley soccer <br />fields. The Safety Director, a representative from the Recreation Commission and <br />representatives from NOSO aze asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Kasler scheduled a Finance Committee meeting immediately following <br />the Recreation Committee on February 24. The committee will discuss Ordinance Nos. <br />2004-22, 2004-23, 2004-24, 2004-25 and Resoh~tion 2004-27. The Mayor, Finance <br />Director, Service Director and Safety Director are asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Kasler scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for discussion of <br />Ordinance 2004-21 (2004 appropriations) on Saturday, February 21, at 8:30 a.m. <br />Discussed will be 2004 revenues, capital improvements and project borrowing. The <br />Mayor and Finance Director are asked to attend. <br />Because time is an important issue with regard to the Barton/Bradley soccer fields, <br />Councilman Miller asked that the Mayor, Safety Director, Recreation Commissioner and <br />the Finance Director all be prepared to make a recommendation about whether the city <br />should follow through with it, if the city has the financing and can the city afford to do <br />this with no elimination of other services. He is asking ahead of time so that proper <br />preparation can be made prior to the committee meeting. Time is of the essence, and <br />Council needs input in order to follow through with this issue. <br />Councilman Gareau moved that Council adjourn into executive session to discuss <br />litigation. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert. Roll call: Gazeau, yes, <br />commenting that, despite Mr. Lambert's expressed opinion about having the executive <br />session open, he still has to discuss with his lawyer how the lawsuit is to be addressed. <br />Ro11 call continued: Limpert, yes; McKay, yes; Dailey, yes; Miller, yes; Nashar, yes; <br />Kasler, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Council adjourned into executive session <br />at 10:02 p.m. (As a point of order, Councilman Gazeau noted that the executive session <br />attendance was limited to the members of Council, Safety Director and Law Director.) <br />The meeting was reconvened by President O'Grady at 10:30 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Kasler amended the agenda for the Finance Committee meeting of <br />Saturday, February 21, to include a discussion of the portion of the budget that involves <br />the Recreation Department. The Safety Director and the Recreation Commissioner are <br />asked to attend. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President O'Grady adjourned the meeting at 10:31 p.m. <br />;' ~~ ~~~, <br />~~_. <br />Barbara L.
