Council Minutes of 2/3/2004 in committee. A public heazing on the legislation will be held on Wednesday, Mazch 3, and the legislation will also be on the Council agenda that evening. Councilman Miller added to his report: The Recreation Commission discussed at length Ordinance 2004-13. An amended version of the legislation has been presented to Council. The Recreation Commission unanimously recommended approval and requests Council to move forwazd and consider passage under suspension of the rules at the next Council meeting as the material is needed for the Recreation brochure which is due for submittal to the printer in approximately two weeks. LETERS OR COMMUNICATIONS The following letter to President O'Grady was read: "Thank you for your note and invitation to attend the Council meeting on the third to honor Mrs. Claire Hayes. Unfortunately, I cannot attend due to a previously scheduled business meeting. Hooray to Council and hooray to the Mayor for taking the time to publicly recognize the contribution Mrs. Hayes has made to the schools and to the community. We live in a better place because of her! Michael Raig, President North Olmsted City Schools Boazd of Education" AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Chazles Dial, 27959 Gazdenia. • On the on-going issue of manning the Data Processing Department, he would like to emphasize once again, as an experienced person in the azea, the importance of continuity and not constantly rotating through other people, inside/outside consultants, or what-have-you. • Referring back to the Mayor's eazlier comments about the meeting with CEI, he believes Mrs. Kasler had requested that she be included in that meeting. For himself, he would like to insure there is some follow-through on the Mayor's remazks to ascertain the exact nature of what happened at the meeting. This should be a matter of public record, and there are important issues involving the transformer. This needs to be very thoroughly and solidly followed through. He encourages Mrs. Kasler to get all the information she can. Mrs. Kasler noted, as a result of the committee meeting that Mr. Dial attended on this issue, she requested that he also be invited to that meeting as she felt he was extremely knowledgeable about this matter. She had been told today that the meeting was to be scheduled for next week, but this evening the Mayor said it had already occurred prior to her memo. Mr. Dial said he would be willing to attend a future meeting. Service Director Driscoll came forwazd and said that, immediately after last Council meeting when it was suggested the Illuminating Company be contacted regarding the transformer issue, he proceeded to do so and set up a meeting for that Friday. Mrs. Kasler's memo was received on the day that meeting had already been held. The meeting was held at the site. The Illuminating Company and Wastewater Treatrnem personnel 9
