Council Minutes of 1/20/2004 <br />unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved that Council approve the reappointment of <br />Julianne Nader to the ARB for the term of January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2005. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. <br />• The reappointment of Ray Klesta to the Board of Building Code Appeals for the term <br />of January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004, which the committee approved <br />unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved that Council approve the reappointment of <br />Ray Klesta to the BBCA for the term of January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously. <br />• The reappointment of Meena Mangla to the Fair Housing Board for the term of <br />January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2006, which the committee approved <br />unanimously. Councilman Limpert moved that Council approve the reappointment of <br />Meena Mangla to the Fair Housing Review Board for the term of January 1, 2004 to <br />December 31, 2006. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed <br />unanimously. <br />• The reappointments of Beverle Martindale, Don Frazier, Roy Garland and Gordon <br />Thompson to the Cultural Activities Commission for the term of January 1, 2004 to <br />December 31, 2004, which the committee approved. Councilman Limpert moved <br />that Council approve the reappointments of Beverle Martindale, Don Frazier, Roy <br />Garland and Gordon Thompson to the Cultural Activities Commission. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously. <br />• The reappointment of Joe Lang as Council's appointment to the Landmarks <br />Commission. However, today he learned that Mr. Lang's current term does not <br />expire until the end of this year. So, there will be no need to reappoint at this time. <br />• The reappointment of Mr. Tom Hreha to the Planning Commission for the term of <br />January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2008. The committee agrees that Mr. Hreha <br />has been doing an excellent job, but there is some concern by anon-committee <br />member that Mr. Hreha, who is a 34-year resident of North Olmsted, is temporarily <br />living outside the city. There is no resident requirement in our Charter for members <br />of this commission, but the committee has asked that Mr. Hreha, for the time being, <br />serve as a hold-over until this can be discussed further. <br />• Interviews of Mr. Jim Burns and Mr. Dennis Lambert for two of Council's <br />appointments for the permanent Charter Review Commission. Both interviews went <br />well, and the committee is holding its vote until more applications are received. It <br />was agreed to make the appointments by Council's last February meeting. <br />2) The committee met again this evening to conduct additional interviews for Council's <br />appointments to the new Charter Review Commission. Present were committee chair <br />Limpert, committee members Miller and Kasler; Council President O'Grady, Council <br />members Nashar, Gareau, Dailey and McKay. Interviewed were Diane Feigi, Nicole <br />Dailey Jones and Robert Wendt. All five candidates have interviewed well, and the <br />committee will discuss recommendations at the next meeting. <br />Councilman Gareau commented he wanted to let the record reflect with respect to the <br />issue of residency and boards and commissions, that he is the person who expressed the <br />~,,, opinion about whether or not a particular nominee to the Planning Commission should be <br />a resident.
