Council Minutes of 1/6/2004 <br />,, Ordinance No. 2003-175 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its third reading. An <br />`*~- ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Safety to purchase six (6) new Crown <br />Victoria Interceptor Cruisers, and related Police equipment, for the North Olmsted Police <br />Department through the state purchase program; further authorizing the Mayor to execute <br />all necessary contract documents; and declaring an emergency. Councilman McKay <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 2003-175 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2003-182 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor, upon the review and approval of the Board of Control, <br />to enter into a sole source and direct purchase agreement with Harrington Electric <br />Company for the acquisition of a 750 KVA Mineral Filled Transformer for the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant, without public bidding, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2004-1 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Gareau. <br />An ordinance creating new Section 137.03 of Chapter 137 of the Administrative Code, <br />entitled "Department of Law," in order to authorize the Director of Law to settle certain <br />small dollar claims of or against the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 2004-2 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />Kasler on behalf of Mayor Musial. An ordinance dispensing with the RFP process <br />otherwise required by Sections 111.03 et seq. of the Administrative Code and authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into a contract with for the purpose of providing computer <br />consulting services to the city pending appointment of anew Data Processing <br />Commissioner, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2004-3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Dailey <br />on behalf of Mayor Musial. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North <br />Olmsted to enter into a new professional services agreement with Jerry Ludvik, the golf <br />pro at the Springvale Golf Course, for the period April 1, 2003 through December 31, <br />2004, and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman Miller scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting for <br />6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13. On the agenda will be regional central dispatch, a Fire <br />Dept. personnel issue and a liquor permit. The Police Chief, Fire Chief and P & A <br />Duector are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Limpert scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations Committee meeting for <br />7:I5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13. The committee will discuss the Mayor's <br />reappointments to various boards and commissions and will interview two candidates for <br />positions on the Charter Review Commission. <br />7 <br />
