~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL '~r- OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 20, 2005 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, Miller, Nashar, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Clerk of Council Seman President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance as led by Eagle Scout John Jecker. The minutes of the special Council meeting of November 29, 2005 were approved as written. Councilman Gareau made a motion to remove Ordinance No. 2005-95 from third reading and refer it to the BZD Committee, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll call: Gareau, yes; Barker, yes; Miller, yes; Nashar, yes; Orlowski, yes; Ryan, no; Tallon, yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, 2005-164, 2005-170, 2005-171, 2045- 172, 2005-173, 2005-174, 2005-181; first reading, 2005-182, 2005-183, 2005-184, 2005- 185, 2005-186, 2005-190, 2005-191. SPECIAL LEGISLATION Resolution No. 2005-183 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Miller on behalf of the Mayor and entire Council. A resolution commending the achievement by John Jecker of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Councilman Miller moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Councilman Miller moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-183 adopted. John was invited to come forward, and the resolution was read in its entirety. John was congratulated by members of Council, the administration and all present. Resolution No. 2005-184 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Gareau on behalf of the Mayor and entire Council. A resolution to honor and recognize the accomplishments of Council Member Carolyn J. Kasler. Councilman Gareau moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review.
