Council Minutes of 12/20/2005 <br />for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Councilman Barker <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-184 adopted. President Kennedy announced that <br />Mrs. Kasler was not able to be present. The legislation was read in its entirety, and Mrs. <br />Kasler's accomplishments were recognized by members of Council, the administration <br />and all present. <br />Resolution No. 2005-185 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Nashar on behalf of the entire Council and the Mayor. A resolution to honor and <br />recognize the accomplishments of Council Member Farrell Dean McKay Sr. Councilman <br />Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and <br />passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-185 adopted. Mr. McKay was invited to <br />come forward, and the resolution was read in its entirety. Mr. McKay was congratulated <br />by members of Council, the administration and all present. Councilman Nashar said it <br />has been a pleasure working with Mr. McKay for the past 16 years, and he congratulated <br />Mr. McKay on his 22 years of service to the city. Mr. McKay expressed his thanks to all <br />and said he had always tried to serve the residents of North Olmsted, and especially Ward <br />IV residents, in a manner in which he would have liked to have been treated himself. <br />Resolution No. 2005-186 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Miller on behalf of the entire Council and the Mayor. A resolution to honor and <br />recognize the accomplishments of Council Member George M. Nashar. Councilman <br />Miller moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Miller moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-186 adopted. Councilman Gareau commented that <br />Mr. Nashar is a good person and a good Councilman. He has left an indelible mark on <br />the community, and he will be missed. Councilman Miller said it was a privilege to have <br />served with Mr. Nashar, and he concurred that he is a good community member and an <br />exemplary Councilman. Councilman Barker said it had been a privilege to serve with <br />Mr. Nashar, and he appreciates all that Mr. Nashar has done for the community. Mayor <br />O'Grady said there was a changing of the guard with Mr. Nashar retiring and Mr. McKay <br />having retired earlier in the year. They are two giants among the elected representatives. <br />They will be missed. Councilman Nashar was invited to stand before the podium while <br />the resolution was read in its entirety. Councilman Nashar was congratulated by <br />members of Council, the administration and all present. Councilman Nashar expressed <br />his thanks to all, and especially to his family for their help and support. He has <br />thoroughly enjoyed his 16 years as a public servant for the City of North Olmsted. He <br />noted some of the accomplishments of the city during that time, such as the purchase of <br />Springvale, the new fire stations, and the new the library. <br />0 <br />2 <br />
