(216-201-2000). <br />• The Department is currently seeking donations for the Community Fund <br />and the Community Cupboard. Donations of check, cash, and food items <br />are very welcome. <br />Personnel/Human Resources: <br />• The employee health care committee met on November 7 and determined <br />that the current plan design will remain in effect with Medical Mutual of <br />Ohio for 2006. During the meeting, the Committee was presented with <br />several cost containment strategies regarding plan design such as a $10 <br />office visit co-pay, a $SO emergency room co-pay, increasing the out-of- <br />pocket maximum and requiring co-insurance minimums. The committee <br />determined that the employee monthly premium contribution for Option 1 <br />plan will be increased from $48 to $54 for family coverage and from $18 <br />to $16 for single coverage. The premium increase reflects the renewal <br />percentage increase of 12.66%. The employee contribution for option 2 <br />will remain at zero. <br />Planning Department: <br />• Boards and Commissions are going to see a change with the passage of <br />Issue 97 by North Olmsted voters. Anew Planning and Design <br />Commission will be created within in the City's Charter effective January <br />1, 2006. Legislation has been introduced this evening that will make <br />necessary changes to other code sections in order to eliminate reference to <br />the ARB and to clarify the functions of the new Commission. He will <br />work quickly to appoint qualified individuals to that Commission and will <br />make every effort to ensure a smooth transition. <br />• Director Wenger and he will be meeting this Friday with representatives <br />of the Cleveland Metroparks to discuss issues related to the Fire Station #2 <br />site plan, and possible cooperative opportunities for development and <br />historic preservation. <br />Safety: <br />• Safety Director Limpert attended a seminar in Columbus on applying for <br />FEMA Mitigation e-Grants in the areas of Flood Mitigation Assistance <br />and Pre-Disaster Mitigation. <br />• The Recreation Center's ice rink bleachers are undergoing Phase I of <br />ADA accessibility. This will provide spaces for two wheelchairs. Up to <br />this point, visitors in wheelchairs were restricted to floor area. They could <br />barely see the tops of the heads of the people skating by. Now with these <br />changes, they will be able to get into an elevated position and see the <br />entire ice rink. <br /> <br />~~~ m ~~~~ <br />
