Council Minutes of 1/4/2005 <br />The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously. Resolution <br />No. 2004-203 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2004-204 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing application for and acceptance of a direct grant from the United <br />States Department of Homeland Security in an amount of up to fifty thousand dollars <br />($50,000.00) to be used for the purchase of equipment to improve the ability of the North <br />Olmsted Police Department to respond to and deal with a terrorist attack or incident in <br />the City of North Olmsted; and further authorizing the Mayor or Chief of Police, as <br />applicable, to execute the necessary grant-related documents, and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Miller moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings <br />and noted the legislation had been reviewed by committee. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously. Councilman Miller moved for adoption. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously. Resolution <br />No. 2004-204 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-1 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />Kasler. An ordinance dispensing with the RFP process otherwise required by Sections <br />111.03 et seq. of the Administrative Code and authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval <br />of the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into afive-year agreement with the Walter <br />H. Diane Company for the purpose of providing ordinance codification services to the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-2 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />Kasler on behalf of herself and the entire City Council. An ordinance establishing and <br />fixing the compensation for the President of Council of the City of North Olmsted for the <br />term of office commencing January 1, 2006 and ending December 31, 2009 and declaring <br />an emergency. Councilwoman Kasler moved for suspension of the rules requiring three <br />readings and formal committee review but noted the topic had been discussed in <br />committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. <br />Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Nashar and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2005-2 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />Kasler on behalf of herself and the entire City Council. An ordinance establishing and <br />fixing the compensation for the Ward Council Members of the City of North Olmsted for <br />the term of office commencing January 1, 2006 and ending December 31, 2009 and <br />declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Kasler moved for suspension of the rules <br />requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously.
