MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 19, 2006 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of November 21, 2006 were approved as written. With regard to the minutes of the Council meeting of December 5, 2006, Councilman Ryan said he wished to correct the minutes regarding a statement he made about an editorial which had been written regarding the Central Dispatch Center with which he disagreed. He mistakenly identified the newspaper as the Westlife and it should have been the Sun Herald. He apologized for the error and asked that the minutes reflect that change. Law Director Dubelko explained the minutes should reflect what occurred at the meeting, and the minutes do reflect what Mr. Ryan said. However, the minutes of this day, December 19, will reflect the correct name of the newspaper. Mayor O'Grady asked that the minutes of December 5, 2006 be amended to include the fact that he had not been provided an opportunity to respond on two occasions during the meeting: First, during Council's consideration of Ordinance 2006-183 in the Legislation section. Second, during the Miscellaneous Business section when he asked for clarification regarding Councilman Barker's comments about the Mayor's comments on the Internet about the city receiving free membership in the CDC during 2007. Councilman Garea~ made a motion to amend the minutes of the Council meeting of December 5, 2006 per the request of the Mayor, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll call: Gareau, yes, Barker, yes; Jones, yes; Miller, no; Orlowski„ no; Ryan, no; Tallon, no. The motion failed with three yes votes and four no votes. The minutes of the Council meeting of December 5, 2006 were approved as written. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance Nos. 2006-193, 2006-194, 2006-197; first reading, Resolution Nos. 2006-199, 2006-201, and Ordinance No. 2006-203.
