MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 19, 2006 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 21, 2006 were approved as written. <br />With regard to the minutes of the Council meeting of December 5, 2006, Councilman <br />Ryan said he wished to correct the minutes regarding a statement he made about an <br />editorial which had been written regarding the Central Dispatch Center with which he <br />disagreed. He mistakenly identified the newspaper as the Westlife and it should have <br />been the Sun Herald. He apologized for the error and asked that the minutes reflect that <br />change. Law Director Dubelko explained the minutes should reflect what occurred at the <br />meeting, and the minutes do reflect what Mr. Ryan said. However, the minutes of this <br />day, December 19, will reflect the correct name of the newspaper. Mayor O'Grady <br />asked that the minutes of December 5, 2006 be amended to include the fact that he had <br />not been provided an opportunity to respond on two occasions during the meeting: First, <br />during Council's consideration of Ordinance 2006-183 in the Legislation section. <br />Second, during the Miscellaneous Business section when he asked for clarification <br />regarding Councilman Barker's comments about the Mayor's comments on the Internet <br />about the city receiving free membership in the CDC during 2007. Councilman Garea~ <br />made a motion to amend the minutes of the Council meeting of December 5, 2006 per the <br />request of the Mayor, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll call: <br />Gareau, yes, Barker, yes; Jones, yes; Miller, no; Orlowski„ no; Ryan, no; Tallon, no. The <br />motion failed with three yes votes and four no votes. The minutes of the Council meeting <br />of December 5, 2006 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance Nos. 2006-193, 2006-194, <br />2006-197; first reading, Resolution Nos. 2006-199, 2006-201, and Ordinance <br />No. 2006-203. <br />
