MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 5, 2006 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Clerk of Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinances 2006-187, 2046-188 and <br />Resolution 2006-190; first reading, Resolution 2006-198. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to relieve Ordinance 2005-165 from BZD Committee <br />and to add it to the agenda for second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Miller and passed unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) The successful annual tree lighting at Springvale yesterday began a <br />new tradition in our city. It is his intention to host the event at Springvale each year. <br />Thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus, members of the high school Pep Band, the Black & <br />Orange Choir from Chestnut School, the Deerfield Park Civic Association for their <br />donation of decorations for the tree and to Toys R Us for their on-going support of the <br />city and city issues. Thanks to Administrative Assistant Annie Kilbane and to the <br />Community Life Services Dept. and the staff at Springvale for putting on such are <br />excellent event. <br />2) Department reports: <br />• Senior Center welcomes Linda Hudson as its new Title III Hot Lunch Program <br />Coordinator, financed through a grant of the Western Reserve Area Agency on <br />Aging. Linda brings solid computer and reporting skills and is a welcome <br />addition to our staff. <br />• Anyone interested in participating in the Adopt-A-Family program, please <br />contact the Community Life Services Dept. <br />• Ads were run in the Plain Dealer November 26 and 29 for the Assistant Building <br />Commissioner position. Additional ads were placed in three trade association <br />websites to include Building Officials Conference of Northeast Ohio, North <br /> <br />
