NORTH OLMSTED CITY COUNCIL
MINUTES OE THE PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 28, 2006
Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau,
Dailey Jones, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon
Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Clerk of Council Seman
President of Council Kennedy called the public hearing to order at 7:02 p.m. in Council
Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
President Kennedy announced the public hearing was being held with regard to
Ordinance No. 2006-162, an ordinance amending Chapter 1118 of the Zoning Code in
order to update and change the procedure for granting and revoking conditional use
permits.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Jim Burns, representative of the Chamber of Commerce, 25045 Lorain Road, noted the
fifth "Whereas" clause of the ordinance says, "The Planning & Design Commission on
the 11th day of October, 2006 by formal motion recommended with suggested changes
that this ordinance be adopted." He questioned if the ordinance had been amended and
what the changes were as recommended by the Planning Commission.
Planning Director Wenger explained the changes have not been adopted. The BZD
Committee would first need to discuss the legislation following the public hearing and
then they may choose to incorporate those recommended changes. The changes
suggested by the Planning Commission were to add under 1118.03 (g), a number 9 that
created acatch-all for any other issues the Planning & Design Commission deemed
appropriate. Under 1118.04 (b) Temporary Structures, deleting that line.
Councilman Gareau said he would be sure Mr. Burns is notified of the committee
meeting as Mr. Burns said he had a "litany" of items to present.. He suggested that the
items be presented to the committee before the meeting so the members would have time
to review the list, and Mr. Burns agreed.
There being no further comments, President Kennedy adjourned the public hearing at
7:05 p.m.
Lam- /
Barbara L. Seman, Cl rk of Council Kevin M. Kennedy, Pres' f Council
