Council Minutes of 10/17/2006 4) Departments: • Food cupboard is in need of food and financial donations. • Leak raking is being done by volunteers. Senior citizens or disabled citizens who are in need of assistance should contact Director John Dailey. • Thanks to the generosity of a resident and the efforts of our maintenance staff, a roster board was installed at the Rec Center for the North Olmsted High School hockey team. The boazd will be a permanent fixture with removable letters and allows us to put up different roster names for different events. • Tomorrow between 1 and 3 p.m. the annual Senior Fest will be held. Seniors from the North Olmsted High School S.I.T.E.S. program interact with senior citizens from the North Olmsted Senior Center. This is the first time that the City of North Olmsted will co-sponsor this event with the schools, and we are very proud to be their partner on this. • Senior Center will host a Lifeline screening program on November 29 from $:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The screening is for strokes, aneurysm, osteoporosis, and peripheral arterial disease. The cost is $45 each and can be purchased in packages. This is available to all residents regardless of age. • The Human Resources Department issued new photo employee cards. The ID cards look nice, and congratulations to our IT staff and Director Farver for this project. • Planning Director Wenger will be the guest speaker Thursday, October 19, at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon. She will talk about the planning and development projects that aze currently under way in the city. Tickets can be purchased through the'Chamber of Commerce. • Ohio Planning Conference annual Cleveland Planning and Zoning Conference will be held on Friday, October 27. Members of the Planning & Design Commission will be attending this day-long conference, and Planning Director Wenger will be one of the presenters on planning for aging populations. • In the Safety Department, we are pleased to welcome back Building Commissioner Dave Conway following knee replacement surgery. Thanks to Assistant Building Commissioner Tom Rymazczyk for filling in so ably during Dave's absence. • Cleveland Division of Air Quality is scheduled to perform afull-compliance evaluation at Suburban Collision Center today. The evaluation consists of touring the facility and soliciting required documentation. It does not necessarily include air quality testing. • Administration is pleased with Council's effort through Resolution 2006-176 to encourage notification regarding Suburban. He is even more pleased to announce the administration has akeady been successful in this regard. They have a commitment from Mr. Dave DeChant of the Cleveland Division of Air Quality that our Safety Director will be notified by e-mail for evaluations, inspections, testing, or hearings related to the Suburban Collision Center. This notice will be passed to all members of Council and to any resident who should request notification. Our own testing agency, Auburn Environmental, will be conducting up to 12 area samples over five $-hour days in the area that has been affected by 2
