Council Minutes of 10/17/2006 <br />4) Departments: <br />• Food cupboard is in need of food and financial donations. <br />• Leak raking is being done by volunteers. Senior citizens or disabled citizens who <br />are in need of assistance should contact Director John Dailey. <br />• Thanks to the generosity of a resident and the efforts of our maintenance staff, a <br />roster board was installed at the Rec Center for the North Olmsted High School <br />hockey team. The boazd will be a permanent fixture with removable letters and <br />allows us to put up different roster names for different events. <br />• Tomorrow between 1 and 3 p.m. the annual Senior Fest will be held. Seniors <br />from the North Olmsted High School S.I.T.E.S. program interact with senior <br />citizens from the North Olmsted Senior Center. This is the first time that the City <br />of North Olmsted will co-sponsor this event with the schools, and we are very <br />proud to be their partner on this. <br />• Senior Center will host a Lifeline screening program on November 29 from $:15 <br />a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The screening is for strokes, aneurysm, osteoporosis, and <br />peripheral arterial disease. The cost is $45 each and can be purchased in <br />packages. This is available to all residents regardless of age. <br />• The Human Resources Department issued new photo employee cards. The ID <br />cards look nice, and congratulations to our IT staff and Director Farver for this <br />project. <br />• Planning Director Wenger will be the guest speaker Thursday, October 19, at the <br />Chamber of Commerce luncheon. She will talk about the planning and <br />development projects that aze currently under way in the city. Tickets can be <br />purchased through the'Chamber of Commerce. <br />• Ohio Planning Conference annual Cleveland Planning and Zoning Conference <br />will be held on Friday, October 27. Members of the Planning & Design <br />Commission will be attending this day-long conference, and Planning Director <br />Wenger will be one of the presenters on planning for aging populations. <br />• In the Safety Department, we are pleased to welcome back Building <br />Commissioner Dave Conway following knee replacement surgery. Thanks to <br />Assistant Building Commissioner Tom Rymazczyk for filling in so ably during <br />Dave's absence. <br />• Cleveland Division of Air Quality is scheduled to perform afull-compliance <br />evaluation at Suburban Collision Center today. The evaluation consists of touring <br />the facility and soliciting required documentation. It does not necessarily include <br />air quality testing. <br />• Administration is pleased with Council's effort through Resolution 2006-176 to <br />encourage notification regarding Suburban. He is even more pleased to announce <br />the administration has akeady been successful in this regard. They have a <br />commitment from Mr. Dave DeChant of the Cleveland Division of Air Quality <br />that our Safety Director will be notified by e-mail for evaluations, inspections, <br />testing, or hearings related to the Suburban Collision Center. This notice will be <br />passed to all members of Council and to any resident who should request <br />notification. Our own testing agency, Auburn Environmental, will be conducting <br />up to 12 area samples over five $-hour days in the area that has been affected by <br />2 <br />
