MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Councilman Barker scheduled a Recreation Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 26, to discuss Resolution 2006-160 The Mayor, Community Life Services
Director and Law Director are asked to attend.
Councilman Orlowski scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting
immediately following the Recreation Committee on September 26 to discuss Ordinance
2006-161 and Codified Chapters 741 and 555. The Law Director, Safety Director,
Chamber of Commerce representative Mr. Burns are asked to attend. Councilman
Gareau requested the committee also bring back into committee Ordinance 2006-128
which is on hold, and Councilman Orlowski agreed to do so.
Councilman Gareau scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday,
September 28. Discussed will be Ordinances 2006-130, 2006-135, 2006-122; Planning &
Design items including Taco Bell, Fifth Third Bank, H & M Clothiers, Exit 2 Storage.
The Planning Director and Law Director are asked to attend.
Councilman Miller requested that a representative from the Ohio EPA be invited to
attend the Public Safety Committee meeting regarding the Suburban issue. He was
recently advised by residents that the sidewalks on Clague Road are in a state of
disrepair, which they are. Some slabs are raised higher and others are tilted, cracked and
in disrepair. Regarding Wal-Mart's landscaping, he is concerned as they have not
replaced trees that have died. Also, bushes and trees in the interior of the parking lot on
the islands are being removed. One island is completely stripped of plantings. He would
like to see some attention to that. On leaf pick-up, the Mayor had indicated the whole
program needs to be updated. Can that update be given to Council? Mayor O'Grady
noted that the administration has been in contact with the EPA regarding the Suburban
issue. Regarding the leaf pick-up issue, the request to rotate the zones is reasonable and
that will be done beginning this year.
Councilman Ryan inquired about the road assessment which was supposed to be done.
Streets & Transportation Committee chairperson Dailey Jones answered that the Service
Director is following through on that issue, and the new engineering firm will do the
assessment and bring it to Council within this calendar year. Mayor O'Grady agreed and
noted it is the goal to have it completed by the end of the year to present to Council for
the next budget cycle.
With the agenda being completed
Council, President Kennedy ai'our
L.
