Council Minutes of $!1/2006 <br />Councilman Ryan asked the Mayor about the report on the status of city roads which <br />~,~ Service Director Limpert had promised to distribute in August. Also, he inquired about <br />the WWTP Phase II report. Mayor O'Grady said there aze two issues going on right now <br />with the Wastewater Treatment Plant. One is the rate and operational study and that is <br />progressing and will soon be presented to the Board of Control. When Service Director <br />Limpert returns from vacation, he will ask hun to update Council on the streets and the <br />Phase II report. Councilman Miller asked that a presentation be made to Council <br />regarding the rate and operational study. Mayor O'Grady agreed and noted that open <br />government is good government. With regazd to the rate and operational study, <br />Councilman Gazeau said time is of the essence. It is taking an extraordinarily long time, <br />and we are not getting any closer to ~lving financial problems at the WWTP. Mayor <br />O'Grady answered that progress is being made. It is of paramount importance that we <br />move forward. Before any of us would be comfortable in going to our citi2ens and <br />saying we might be considering a rate increase, we will make sure within the <br />administration that we know what rate is reasonable and we know that our operation is as <br />efficient as it can be. He will ask Mr. Limpert to provide an update to Council. <br />Councilman Tallon scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, <br />August 9. The Finance Director, Mayor, Councilman Ryan and directors whose budgets <br />are affected are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Barker scheduled a Recreation, Public Pazks & Buildings Committee <br />meeting immediately following the Finance Committee on August 9 to discuss <br />Resolution 2006-139 and 2006-140. The Mayor and the Community Life Services <br />Director are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Orlowski scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfaze Committee meeting <br />immediately following the Recreation Committee on August 9 far a final review of <br />Ordinance 2005-158. The Law Director, Safety Director, Mayor and the Chamber of <br />Commerce representative Mr. Burns are asked to attend. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President Kennedy adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p.m. <br />B bara L.
