O'Grady <br />And Members of Council <br />City of North Olmsted <br />5200 Dover Center Road <br />North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 <br />In re: Shadow Wood (Bradley Road Cluster, 34898 Bradley Road) <br />Dear Mayor O'Grady and Council: <br />FAX (216) 523-1705 <br />Please accept this letter on behalf of my client, Elm Street Properties, and its President, <br />Joseph Urbanick, requesting the rezoning of the above-captioned property to allow for the <br />development of the Shadow Wood single-family cluster home subdivision. We are sincerely <br />disappointed that Council's Building, Zoning and Development Committee voted unanimously <br />not to recommend the rezoning. We understand that the matter will be put to a vote at this <br />evening's Council meeting. <br />As you are aware, this project has been in the offing for over two years. From the point <br />of the filing of the application, the project has been the subject of more than two dozen <br />meetings-formal public sessions, as well as informal administrative workshops-and has twice <br />received the recommendation of the City's Planning Commission for approval by this body. <br />Substantial time, energy and money have been invested in the detailed plans far the subdivision. <br />From the very first meeting before the Planning Commission, the issue of the zoning use <br />was pointedly discussed by City officials, to the extent that the record clearly reflects support for <br />rezoning to single-family cluster in the City's Master Plan, from the City's own Planning <br />Director, and the Planning Commission itself. Virtually all, if not all municipal departments <br />have weighed in on the project regarding many details. <br />Also from the outset, Mr. Urbanick simply asked if the proposed use would be <br />appropriate, so that his extensive investment of resources would be worth the effort. It is fair to <br />state that Mr. Urbanick and his associates were encouraged to move forward and to invest <br />themselves completely in this process.
