MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 17, 2006 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Dailey Jones, <br />Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Talton <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Gareau <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 20, 2005 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of January 3, 2006 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolution 2005-187; first reading, <br />Ordinance 2006-3, Resolution 2006-5, and Resolution 2006-6. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Will be presenting the State of the City address to the Chamber of <br />Commerce at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at the Radisson Hotel. <br />2) Proud to host, as chairman, the most recent Westshore Council of Governments <br />meeting. The foreclosure process was one of the key topics for the meeting, and <br />regionalism and the central dispatch center will be topics during the year. <br />3) Celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by attending a tribute hosted jointly by <br />Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga County Community College. Both institutions <br />should be commended for their planning and for the thoughtfulness. <br />4) Departments: <br />Community Life Services <br />• New ADA doors will be completed soon on the Senior Center. The interior doors <br />are in place, and the exterior doors should be complete by the end of the month. <br />• Senior mammogram screening program sponsored through Fairview Hospital will <br />take place on January 20.
