<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 18, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Miller <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 4, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, 2007-124, 2007-133, 2007-139, 2007- <br />140, 2007-141; first reading, 2007-148, 2007-150, 2007-152, 2007-155, 2007-158. <br />President Kennedy announced that the first meeting of January would be held on <br />Wednesday, January 2, 2008. He wished everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New <br />Year. <br />SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2007-158 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Gareau on behalf of the entire Council. A resolution to honor and recognize the <br />accomplishments of Council Member Ronald James Tallon Sr. Councilman Gareau <br />moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and passed unanimously. Councilman Gareau <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 2007-158 adopted. Councilman Gareau requested that the <br />Resolution be read. The Clerk read the Resolution which honored Ronald James Tallon, <br />Sr, for his many years of distinguished public service. Mr. Tallon had been previously <br />honored in 1991 for his thirteen years of public service on the Board of Building Code <br />Appeals and as a Councilman. He then returned to serve on the Planning Commission for <br />10 years and again as a Councilman. In addition to his public service, Mr. Tallon has <br />been actively involved in many civic, religious, fraternal and union associations. He is an <br />exemplary family man who is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ronald James <br />
