MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
DECEMBER 4, 2007
Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau,
Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Tallon
Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of
Council Seman
Absent: Council Member Ryan
President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200
Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of
Allegiance.
The minutes of the Council meeting of November 20, 2007 were approved as written.
President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage
under suspension of the rules: second reading, 2007-27, 2007-138; first reading,
2007-144, 2007-145.
President Kennedy announced that the first meeting in January would be held on
Wednesday, January 2, 2008, because of New Year's.
RED
Mayor O'Grady: 1) The annual tree lighting ceremony took place last night at
Springvale. Thanks to all who attended and all who helped to organize the event.
Special thanks go out to Santa Claus for joining us during a very busy time for him, and
the Toys R Us organization that donated two children's bicycles and other gifts for raffle.
2) Yesterday he attended and officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new RTA
Park-n-Ride expansion. Joining him were the executive director of the RTA Joe
Calabrese and Mayor Dennis Clough who is a member of the RTA board elected by the
Westshore mayors. This brings a needed addition to something that has been an
incredible asset for the City of North Olmsted and for the residents around North
Olmsted. It is a good idea to park in North Olmsted and then leave the driving to RTA.
3) There is a growing need for assistance to North Olmsted families, and we invite
anyone who is looking to volunteer or donate to contact our Department of Community
Life Services.
4) All residents are invited to complete a survey that is on our city website regarding
Recreation programs. We very much would like their input.
