~; <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 20, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 7, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2007-127; first reading, <br />Ordinance 2007-136 and Resolution 2007-137. <br />President Kennedy wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. <br />Councilman Tallon made a motion to amend the agenda to include Ordinance 2007-138 <br />on first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed <br />unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Happy Thanksgiving and best wishes to all. <br />2) Community Life Services Dept. was able to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to about <br />100 needy families in the city. Thanks to Halleen Chevrolet and Kia, North Olmsted <br />Nissan, and Mercedes Benz of North Olmsted who were very generous in their support of <br />this effort. Also providing support was Giant Eagle, St. Richard's parish and school, the <br />United Methodist Church, the North Olmsted Kiwanis and their Key Club, Starbucks and <br />many of our citizens. Thanks to all for making Thanksgiving a nice event for many of <br />our families that needed help. <br />3) Annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, December 3. Doors at <br />Springvale open at 6:45 p.m. with the lighting taking place at 7 p.m. All are invited to <br />join him, Santa Claus, the choir from Butternut Elementary School, and the Pep Band <br />from the high school. Toys R Us is again donating two bicycles to be raffled off. <br />
