r <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 16, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Finance Director Copfer, Acting Clerk of Council <br />Murphy <br />Absent: Council Member Ryan <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 2, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under <br />suspension of the rules: first reading, Resolution 2007-114, Ordinance 2007-115, Resolution. <br />2007-120, Ordinance 2007-122, Resolution 2007-125; second reading, Resolution 2007-111. <br />President Kennedy announced the first Council meeting in November would be held on <br />Wednesday, November 7, 2007, due to the general election. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Extended his thanks to outgoing Safety Director Tom Terbrack who did an <br />outstanding job for the city and for the administration. We will miss him. <br />2) Friday, October 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. will be "Make a Difference Day" to benefit the City of <br />North Olmsted Emergency Food Cupboard. Please bring non-perishable food items to Old Town <br />Hall. <br />3) Leaf Raking is scheduled for Saturday November 10. Any senior citizen or disabled resident <br />in need of assistance should call our CLS Department. Anyone person or organization wishing <br />to volunteer to help, please call the CLS Department. <br />4) A Public Records Policy was distributed to all employees. This is part of the ongoing effort <br />by the administration to ensure that all departments and divisions establish and adhere to their <br />retention schedules. <br />5) The Planning Director, in cooperation with Assistant Law Directors Heyward and O'Malley, <br />has organized ahalf--day continuing education seminar for realtors in our area. Topics addressed <br />will include development process and review, local redevelopment efforts, fair housing, real <br />property maintenance and more. The seminar will be held at the North Olmsted Party Center <br />tomorrow, October 17, 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. <br />6) The Planning Director will be a guest speaker at Thursday's Chamber of Commerce program <br />hn~cheon. She will speak on the city's newest planning and economic development initiatives. <br />
