MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 15, 2007 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council Member Tallon President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of May 1, 2007 were approved as written. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolution 2007-7, Ordinance 2007-48, Resolution 2007-53; first reading, Resolution 2007-55, Resolution 2007-56, Resolution 2007-57, Resolution 2007-60. Councilman Miller made a motion to add Ordinance No. 2007-63 to the agenda on first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. REPORTS Mayor O'Grady: 1) It will be his pleasure to be shadowed by high school seniors this week and next. This week, the outstanding student is Dan Russell, a senior at St. Edward High School, and his nephew. 2) We continue our coordination with ODOT regarding the I-480 noise barrier project. As reported previously, we were successful in our negotiations with ODOT in assuring that this would be a fiscal year 2008 project, and fisca12008 begins in July of 2007. With the advertising and bidding period, it is expected that the project will sell in November, foundation work will be completed during the winter months, and actual wall construction will start as soon as the weather breaks in the spring of 2008. 3) He will be honored tomorrow evening by CSU's Levine College of Urban Affairs as their distinguished elected official. Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson will be the keynote speaker. He will accept this distinction on behalf of our entire administration and the citizens of our city. His cabinet has been outstanding and the directors and the Council he works with are very capable. It's really a team effort, and he will accept it that way.
