<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 1, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 17, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2007-43, Resolution 2007-45; <br />first reading, Resolutions 2007-49 and 2007-51. <br />President Kennedy announced that a public hearing would be held for Ordinance 2007-30 <br />at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. <br />Councilman Tallon made a motion to amend the agenda by removing Ordinance 2007-38 <br />from second reading and placing it back into committee. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) A successful annual Mayor's Charity Ball was held on April 21 at <br />Springvale. Thanks to all those who attended. <br />2) As chairperson of the Westshore Council of Governments last year, he took the lead on <br />commissioning a study for the creation of a Westshore regional fire district. CSU's <br />Levine College produced a proposal for the study that carried a price tag of $42,395. He <br />met recently with Mr. Sam Miller of Forest City Enterprises who has become a champion <br />of the need for regional cooperation, and Mr. Miller will completely fund this study. <br />3) The cities of North Olmsted and Fairview and the city schools of each city are pleased <br />to be sponsoring the first North Olmsted/Fairview Park Relay for Life event on June 23 <br />and June 24 at North Olmsted High School. The next organizational meeting is Tuesday, <br />May 8, 6:30 p.m. at the Rec Center. For more information, contact Director Dailey or <br />North Olmsted chairwoman Melissa Meredith. <br /> <br />
