<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 17, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Ryan <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Councilman Barker noted that there was an error in the special Council minutes of March <br />27, 2007, on the first page in the last paragraph it stated Law Director Gareau instead of <br />Law Director Dubelko. The minutes of the special Council meeting of March 27, 2007 <br />were approved as corrected. The minutes of the Council meeting of April 3, 2007 were <br />approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2007-25, Resolutions 2407-33, <br />2007-36, and 2007-37; first reading, Resolutions 2007-39, 2007-40, 2007-42, 2007-44, <br />2007-46, and 2007-47. <br />President Kennedy announced that a public hearing would be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />May 15, 2007, with regard to Ordinance No. 2007-30. <br />President Kennedy asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of the <br />Virginia Tech tragedy. <br />RED <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Recognized and thanked Sun Herald reporter, Meredyth McKenzie, <br />who has taken another job. Ms. McKenzie was recognized by all present. <br />2) Our hearts go out to the Virginia Tech victims and their families. <br />3) He attended a ceremony yesterday commemorating and remembering the Holocaust. <br />It is very important we learn lessons from the mistakes of the past. <br />4) The second annual Mayor's charity ball will be held this Saturday at Springvale. It <br />will benefit charities and programs in North Olmsted and in our larger community. <br />~~ <br />
