0 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 3, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of March 20, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2007-29; first reading, <br />Resolutions 2007-31, 2007-32. <br />REPS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Second annual Mayor's Ball will be held on Saturday, April 21, at <br />Springvale Ballroom. Contact Administrative Assistant Annie Kilbane for information. <br />The event will benefit charities and programs in North Olmsted and our larger <br />community. <br />2) State Route 252 at I-480 is under construction and scheduled for completion by mid- <br />summer. Stearns Road northbound from I-480 is under construction and scheduled for <br />completion by the end of the year. We expect to have the temporary roadway in at <br />Stearns Road in May. Until that goes in, motorists can expect additional delays on that <br />roadway. Motorists are encouraged to avoid these locations if possible. We are working <br />with the Ohio Department of Transportation to place additional informational signs along <br />I-480 informing motorists of the work and allowing them to choose either the Lorain <br />Road or Clague Road exits to avoid the construction. Currently, the I-480 westbound <br />ramp onto State Route 252 south is closed. <br />3) Tax assistance for seniors through the AARP is available at the Senior Center on <br />Wednesdays through April 11. Contact Senior Center for details. <br />4) Anyone interested in assisting in the North Olmsted/Fairview Park Reiay for Life <br />which benefits the American Cancer Society should contact Community Life Services <br />Director John Dailey or North Olmsted chairperson Melissa Meredith for information. <br />They are currently seeking sponsors, volunteers and teams to walk at this event on June <br />23 and June 24. <br />
