<br />~~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 20, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of February 7, 2007 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special Council meeting of February 12, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolution Nos. 2007-12, 2007-16; first <br />reading, Resolution No. 2007-18. <br />President Kennedy announced a public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March <br />13, 2007, with regard to Ordinance No. 2007-5. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) The annual budget was presented to City Council, and the <br />administration looks forward to discussions with regard to funding for the coming year. <br />2) Discussions are underway for the city to join with Fairview Park for a North <br />Olmsted/Fairview Park Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. The <br />tentative date is Saturday, June 23, through Sunday, June 24. For information, please <br />contact Community Life Services Director Dailey. <br />3) The annual Senior Center garage sale fundraiser is set for March 3 at 9 a.m. until 3:30 <br />p.m. Contact the Senior Center for more information. <br />4) Tax assistance for seniors is offered by AARP on Wednesdays through April 11. <br />Make appointments through the Senior Center. <br />5} Ray Mathews was hired to fill the Assistant Building Commissioner vacancy. He has <br />over 25 years of government experience at the state and municipal level. <br />6) Mark Urbanowicz has been hired as the Network Administrator and will begin on <br />March 1. He is a North Olmsted resident with 10 years of experience in the private <br />sector. Mark has a Masters Degree from Bowling Green and all necessary certifications <br />for the position. <br />
