<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 16, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 2, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2008-161, Resolution <br />2008-163; first reading, Resolution 2008-165. <br />President Kennedy announced that a public hearing would be held with regard to <br />Ordinance No. 2008-131 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. <br />President Kennedy wished all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. <br />Councilman Kearney made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance Nos. <br />2008-159 and 2008-160 to the agenda. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Gareau. Roll call: Kearney, yes; Gareau, yes; Ryan, no; Orlowski, yes; Barker, yes, <br />Mahoney, yes; Jones, yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. <br />Councilman Ryan said he wanted to note for the record that he had traveled to Columbus <br />yesterday to witness the convening and the carrying-out of the electoral college here in <br />Ohio. He was the guest of resident Jim Cotner and said everyone should be proud Mr. <br />Cotner was one of only 18 people in the state to participate in the proceedings and who <br />voted for Barack Obama. <br />RED <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) After almost 30 years of waiting, County Engineer Klaiber, <br />Westlake Mayor Clough, and he will open the new Crocker-Steams roadway on <br />December 18 at 10:30 a.m. The project was ahead of schedule and under budget.
