Council Minutes of 12/16/2008
26) Mary Beth Sammon, 24204 Gessner, a resident for 17 years and a small business
owner for 10 years in North Olmsted. As a massage therapist, she gives discounts to the
safety forces because it is important for them to stay healthy. She feels strongly about the
safety of her family and feels someday their lives could be saved by these people. She
encourages everybody in North Olmsted to call the Fire Department and get current CPR
training because it might be needed if these cuts are made.
27) Katie Kasza, 23759 Lucille Drive, said a comment had been made earlier about the
flyers-that they were an insult or this was a game. She is the wife of a fire fighter who
is being laid off and said this is not a game. The fire fighters worked very hard to deliver
the flyers to all the homes and they weren't doing it as a game. They told her they are all
family and were fighting to save her husband's job. They take lives of citizens seriously
Yes, they want to save these jobs, but they also do believe in the safety of everybody in
this city.
