<br />Council Minutes 11/5/2008 <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2008-129 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. A <br />resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter a collective bargaining <br />agreement with the Ohio Patrohnan's Benevolent Association for the city's dispatchers <br />for the period January 1, 2007 to December 31, 200$ and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Gazeau moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by Council <br />Member Dailey Jones. Roll call: Gazeau, yes; Jones, yes; Orlowski, yes; Mahoney, yes; <br />Ryan, yes; Kearney, yes; Barker, no. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no <br />vote. Resolution No. 2008-129 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2007-58 introduced by Councilman Gazeau was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance amending Section 339.02 of Chapter 339 of the North Olmsted Traffic <br />Code, entitled "Commercial and Heavy Vehicles," in order to increase the penalties for <br />truck and other heavy vehicle traffic that illegally travel upon local streets not designated <br />as truck routes. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-56 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending Section 1139.01 of Chapter 1139 (Business Districts) of the <br />Planning and Zoning Code in order to regulate the placement of charitable collection bin <br />storage containers in the General Retail Business District of the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-57 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending Sections 7SS.11 and 755.12 of Chapter 7SS (Secondhand Dealers) of <br />the Business Regulation Code, entitled "Hours and Circumstances of Sales," and <br />"Exceptions" in order to regulate outdoor collection receptacles on commercial property. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-124 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the yeaz ending December 31, 2008 as <br />amended. Councilman Gazeau moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings <br />as it had been reviewed in committee and for the purpose that these are significant <br />matters that need to be moved forward on with obligations to be paid for. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Councilman Gazeau <br />moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll call: <br />Gazeau, yes; Bazker, yes; Keazney, yes; Jones, yes; Ryan, yes; Mahoney, no; Orlowski„ <br />yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. Ordinance No. 2008-124 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-135 introduced by Councilman Gazeau on behalf of himself and <br />Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An ordinance amending Section 1333.01 <br />of the Building Code in order to more effectively require debris and other materials to be <br />removed from demolition sites, as amended. <br />Resolution No. 2008-132 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution approving the awazd of a job creation grant to IQS, Inc.; further authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement; and declaring an emergency. <br />10 <br />
