<br />Council Minutes 10-21-2008 <br />~. <br />as they felt there were staffing deficiencies within the city of North Olmsted <br />Service Department? Council heazd from Service Director Limpert who <br />explained this was part of an on-going process in an attempt to find ways to <br />maximize our tax dollazs. These aze the suggestions that were brought forward. <br />Those three issues were held in committee; however, they will be brought back up <br />for discussion next week. <br />Councilman Barker, chairperson of the BZD Committee: 1) The Building, Zoning and <br />Development Committee met on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 8:47 p.m. Present were <br />members Barker, Dailey Jones and Gazeau; Councilmen Mahoney, Orlowski and <br />Kearney, and President of Council Kennedy; Planning Director Wenger and Mr. Dale <br />Schmidt representing Exit 2 Storage. Agenda items included: <br />COMS08-09: Exit 2 Storage, located at 31399 Industrial Parkway. The proposal <br />consists of adding an additional canopy for 28 covered storage spaces. The <br />canopy will match the canopy previously approved and constructed, including a <br />split face block end cap on the north side of the structure. The pavement will be <br />expanded and includes a 6-inch concrete curb around the new area. The existing <br />storm water detention system will handle the additional impervious surface. The <br />Building Department noted a few minor property maintenance and plan <br />compliance issues, including replacement of a dead tree and installing the mesh <br />fence screening as required by previously approved plans. Mr. Gazeau abstained <br />from discussion and the vote due to a professional relationship with Mr. Schmidt. <br />There were no questions from committee and no comments or questions from <br />Council. In committee, Council Member Dailey Jones made a motion to approve <br />Exit 2 Storage's addition of 28 covered spaces located at 31399 Industrial <br />Parkway; second by Councilman Barker, and the vote was 2-0 for approval. The <br />meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m. Councilman Bazker made a motion to approve <br />COMS08-09 Exit 2 Storage located at 31399 Industrial Parkway consisting of 28 <br />additional covered spaces and also per recommendations of the Planning <br />Commission. The motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey Tones. Roll <br />call: Barker, yes; Jones, yes; Mahoney, yes; Kearney, yes; Ryan, no; Orlowski, <br />yes; Gareau, abstain for the stated reasons that he has a professional relationship <br />with Mr. Schmidt and Exit 2 Storage. The motion passed with five yes votes and <br />one abstention. <br />Councilman Kearney, chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfaze Committee: 1) <br />The committee met at 6:30 p.m. on October 14. Present were Council President <br />Kennedy; committee members Orlowski, Kearney and Mahoney; Council Members <br />Barker, Dailey Jones and Gareau; the Safety Director and Animal Warden. On the <br />agenda was Ordinance 2008-122 under the General Offense Code entitled "Animals and <br />Fowl." Because Councilman Ryan, the ordinance sponsor, was unable to attend due to a <br />family emergency, the ordinance was held in committee. <br />7 <br />
