Council Minutes of 10/7/2008 <br />Resolution No. 2008-127 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing -the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for brush <br />removal services in accordance with plans and specifications on file in his office and <br />further authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement for said services with the lowest <br />and best bidder, subject to approval by the Board of Control. <br />Resolution No. 2008-128 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for snow <br />plowing services in accordance with plans and specifications on file in his office and <br />further authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement for said services with the lowest <br />and best bidder, subject to approval by the Board of Control. <br />Resolution No. 2008-129 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter a collective bargaining <br />agreement with the Ohio Benevolent Patrolman's Association for the city's dispatchers <br />for the period January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008 (and declaring an emergency). <br />Resolution No. 2008-130 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady <br />on behalf of himself and Councilman Kearney. A resolution accepting a grant from the <br />Ohio Department of Public Safety for the Police Department's participation in the Third <br />Grade Safety Belt Program, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br />Ohio Department of Public Safety setting forth the terms and conditions of the grant and <br />participation in said program, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Kearney moved <br />for suspension of the rules requiring three- readings and committee review. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2008-130 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-131 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Orlowski. An ordinance providing for the amendment of Section 1127.04 of the Zaning <br />Code of the City of North Olmsted to provide for voter approval by majority of electors <br />within the ward of any zoning or rezoning from single family to residential cluster <br />district. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman Kearney scheduled a Public Safety Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on <br />Tuesday, October 14, to discuss Ordinance 2008-122. The Safety Director and Animal <br />Warden are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Barker scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />October 14, to discuss Resolutions 2008-115, 2008-116, 2008-125, 2008-126, 2008-127, <br />2008-128 and 2008-129 and Ordinances 2008-118 and 1008-124. The Mayor, Finance <br />Director, Law Director, and Service Director are asked to attend. <br />11 <br />
