1 <br />,, c~. <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NNE 17, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Dailey Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Gareau <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of June 3, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following. legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2008-85; first reading: <br />Resolutions 2008-89, 2008-90, 2008-96. <br />Councilman Mahoney moved to amend the agenda to include Resolution 2008-9b on first <br />reading. The motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey Jones and passed <br />unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />May ro O'Grady: 1) Welcomed and recognized 15 students who are pursuing a Master's <br />in Public Administration and are under the able tutelage of Safety Director Dr. Lisa <br />Thomas. Service to fellow citizens is a most noble goal to pursue, and he commend <br />them. <br />2) The Cook Road/Stearns Road intersection improvement project will begin in July. <br />This project goes along Stearns Road for approximately .2 of a mile south of Cook Road <br />up to I-480 and will include the replacement of Stearns Road Culvert No. 5. There will <br />be a public meeting to discuss the project at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, at the West <br />Side Irish American Club on Jennings Road. Representatives from the administration, <br />Olmsted Township leadership, and the County Engineer's office will be on hand to <br />discuss the project. The project cost will be approximately $6 million and is expected to <br />conclude by September of 2009. <br /> <br />
