<br />Council Minutes of 6/17/2008 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2008-92 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section 745.02 of Chapter 745 of the Business Regulation Code <br />(Hotel and Motel Tax) in order to expand the government purposes for which the city's <br />local HoteUMotel Tax is imposed. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-93 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-34, which established the <br />Hotel/Motel Tax Fund, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 2006-113, in order to <br />further expand the purposes for which monies in the said fund maybe expended. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-94 3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 99-107, which established the Safe <br />Traffic Oriented Policing ("STOP") program in the North Olmsted Police Department, as <br />previously amended by Ordinance No. 2004-42, in order to further expand the purposes <br />for which monies paid into the STOP Fund maybe expended. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-95 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2002-103 which, inter alia, <br />established fees and charges for emergency medical services rendered by the North <br />Olmsted Fire Department, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 2002-154, in order <br />to provide for those revenues received for services rendered to non-residents be paid into <br />the General Fund. <br />Resolution No. 200$-96 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Fire and Police Chiefs to apply on behalf of their respective <br />divisions to the Department of Homeland Security to participate in the fiscal year 200$ <br />Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP); further authorizing the <br />Mayor to execute all documents including contracts required to accept assistance <br />awarded; and declaring an emergency. Councilman Barker moved for suspension of the <br />rules requiring three readings and committee review noting the legislation was discussed <br />in caucus and there is a June 30 deadline. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Mahoney and passed unanimously. Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Resolution <br />No. 2008-96 adopted. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BJSINE~S <br />Councilman Barker scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, <br />June 25, to discuss a proposed hotel on Great Northern Blvd.; Ordinance Nos. 2008-56, <br />2008-57 which are charitable bin ordinances; Ordinance Nos. 200$-72, 2008-73 which <br />are Fourth Amendment issues with some Zoning and Building Codes.
