Council Minutes of 6/17/2008 Ordinance No. 2008-92 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance amending Section 745.02 of Chapter 745 of the Business Regulation Code (Hotel and Motel Tax) in order to expand the government purposes for which the city's local HoteUMotel Tax is imposed. Ordinance No. 2008-93 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-34, which established the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 2006-113, in order to further expand the purposes for which monies in the said fund maybe expended. Ordinance No. 2008-94 3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 99-107, which established the Safe Traffic Oriented Policing ("STOP") program in the North Olmsted Police Department, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 2004-42, in order to further expand the purposes for which monies paid into the STOP Fund maybe expended. Ordinance No. 2008-95 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance amending Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2002-103 which, inter alia, established fees and charges for emergency medical services rendered by the North Olmsted Fire Department, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 2002-154, in order to provide for those revenues received for services rendered to non-residents be paid into the General Fund. Resolution No. 200$-96 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. A resolution authorizing the Fire and Police Chiefs to apply on behalf of their respective divisions to the Department of Homeland Security to participate in the fiscal year 200$ Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP); further authorizing the Mayor to execute all documents including contracts required to accept assistance awarded; and declaring an emergency. Councilman Barker moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review noting the legislation was discussed in caucus and there is a June 30 deadline. MISCELLANEOUS BJSINE~S Councilman Barker scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, to discuss a proposed hotel on Great Northern Blvd.; Ordinance Nos. 2008-56, 2008-57 which are charitable bin ordinances; Ordinance Nos. 200$-72, 2008-73 which are Fourth Amendment issues with some Zoning and Building Codes.
