MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 18, 2008 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, Dailey Jones, Mahoney, Orlowski Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council Members Kearney and Ryan President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of February 19, 2008 were approved as written. Councilman Orlowski made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Resolution Nos. 2008-23, 2008-41 and 2008-42. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2008-34. President Kennedy announced that public hearings would be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, for Ordinance 2008-18; at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, for Ordinances 2008-36 and 2008-37; and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 with regard to Ordinance 2008-17. On behalf of the administration and employees of the city, Mayor O'Grady extended deepest condolences to President Kevin Kennedy and his family on the death of his grandmother Kathleen Durack. REPORTS Mayor O'Grady: 1) Congratulations to the Finance Committee and to Council Members who participated in the annual appropriations review which was a shining example of professionalism and decorum from both sides. Also, thanks to the city directors, both elected and appointed, for their dedication in compiling the budget, and special thanks to our outstanding Finance Director, Carrie Copfer, for her leadership. a,, s
